1. Providing or sourcing lists and collecting information
switched-on group acquires and maintains lists of companies and contacts which it uses for its own prospecting activities and makes available to clients for their marketing programmes. This information, such as name, address, position, company, telephone number and email address, is collected by various means including internet registration, e-mails, telephone and face-to-face contact and is legally obtained and willingly provided for purposes that are made clear when the information is collected.
We seek confirmation in writing from list brokers or clients who supply lists to us for marketing purposes that the information supplied conforms to the above conditions.
Direct marketing campaigns executed on behalf of switched-on group or its clients are conducted within a permission based framework, whereby opt-in status is sought from each contact. All communications provide a clear and easy way for recipients of communications to opt-out and have their data removed from our files.
Under no circumstances are lists used by ourselves or made available to clients for the purposes of unsolicited communications.
Any list or data supplied by a client remains the property of the client and under no circumstances will this information be shared or made available to any third party without the written authority of the client.
Lists sourced from switched-on group and/or a list broker remain the property of us or the broker. When a contact from an outsourced list has opted in to receive information or services from the client, that contact is deemed 'acquired' by the client for ongoing marketing purposes for as long as that contact opts-in to receive communications.
2. Tracking email responses or website visits
switched-on group uses software which is designed to track and record email campaign responses against each individual recipient of a communication directly into a database. In the same way, we track and record the areas visited on a website where a recipient has clicked through to the site from a link in an email.
In delivering email, our system also recognises the URL that was clicked on and records information about your computer such as the browser and the operating system.
Under no circumstances is the data collected by switched-on group shared or made available to third parties.
3. Data security
The switched-on group website and client websites hosted by us rely on electronic authentication and other security measures to protect communications, in particular, personal information, passing on or through our website. Access to data is by internally administered username and password allocation. The data is not publicly accessible from our website or retrievable via the Internet.
4. Information disclosure
Information held on our databases on behalf of switched-on group or its clients is never disclosed to any third party, other than where disclosure is required in order to comply with legal or regulatory demands.
