In May, switched-on group launched our reforestation program at the company farm in Gippsland. Our goal was to restore some of the forest that was unnecessarily cleared over 100 years ago. These include some of the largest trees in the world such as Mountain Ash and Blue Gum. Mountain Ash is the world's tallest flowering plant, growing rapidly at a rate of 1 metre per year to reach heights of 100 metres, although the tallest individual ever recorded reached 140 metres. The only other species that comes a close second in height is the Californian Redwood. Since Mountain Ash can live for over 500 years, it’s a great legacy to leave behind.
The planting weekend involved some of our greenest staff members - a great opportunity for our staff to get out in the open air and dig deep to make a contribution to the environment. See picture below
The switched-on farmhouse is currently being renovated to improve our off site staff training program. The new facility will be launched in December.
